Located in Naus Vapor Gran, an old textile factory in Terrasa, that has been recovered and transformed into retail space, with a total area of 600 sqm. The space is built on a grid of steel foundation columns which support traditional Catalan vaults, and has three facades with arch windows. Used as notary’s office its program requires high privacy rooms, open workspaces for employees, small meeting rooms and central archives.
The main intent of the design is to improve movements between the different offices and create a calm and private atmosphere for the clients. The program is organized around two volumes situated at the center of the space: the meeting rooms and the central archives, which both coordinate circulation around the different private offices while benefiting from natural light and ventilation. Partitions do not directly reach the ceiling in order to avoid visual interactions and to bring natural light to the inner parts of the site. It also serves a third purpose: respecting the original Catalan style characterized by vaults and foundation columns.
